Guardiola to use Cruyff formation for Fab

Guardiola already has a plan for Fabregas that will bring even more attacking threat to Barca’s game and break down defensive-minded rivals.
Guardiola may well move from the 4-3-3 formation to a 3-4-3 system for home games and clashes against teams who employ negative tactics.
Fabregas would be used at the top of a four-man midfield diamond, operating just behind the front three of Messi, Villa and Pedro, and be expected to break late into the box, as he does at Arsenal.
Behind Fabregas, Xavi would play on the right of the diamond, with Iniesta on the left and Busquets at the base, covering a back three of Gerard Pique, Dani Alves and Eric Abidal.
For matches against top-quality opposition, Guardiola would revert back to 4-3-3, but he is aware he must come up with different ideas to keep the Spanish club ahead of the chasing pack.

Cruyff used 3-4-3 at Ajax before taking the system to Barca, where Guardiola was his captain and played in a team which dominated European football in the early Nineties. Guardiola still sees Cruyff as his coaching mentor and believes Fabregas would be the final piece in the jigsaw to adopt a new version of his total football philosophy.

Where for Juan Mata...if he leaves

Fabregas and his Barcelona dream

''Cesc is a lifelong supporter of FC Barcelona, he first went to the stadium when he was nine months old, with his grandad.''

It has now become inevitable that Arsenal's Captain will be heading back home and getting his dream move. With Barcelona's President Rosell having made contact with the Arsenal Chief Exective, and a low verbal offer being made to get the transfer talks moving this will surely be the year that Fabregas is allowed back. There were talks that Arsene Wenger last year had a private agreement that Fabregas would stay another year and give Wenger a chance. Many Arsenal fans are distraught at the thought of their maestro whos team is setup around him leaving, some have questioned his loyalty but i believe 8 years of great service should not be forgotten, especially when having given Arsenal another chance to try and win a trophy. Fabregas has come under a lot of pressure to let fans know where he stands, but i believe he has done the right thing by saying he will not force a move. I feel he has done all he can for Arsenal and a real fan should wish him well and thank him for his service.

Fabregas' idol Pep Guardiola has made him the number one on the list of signings this year and has reserved the number 4 shirt for Fabregas which he himself wore whilst playing for Cruyff's dream team in the 90's. Many of  the Barcelona player's have not hidden the fact that they want  him to come and join them, one of the memorble scenes of Spains world Cup celebrations when his close friends Puyol and Pique surprised Fabregas by putting a Barcelona shirt over him.Recently in an interview David Villa said that Fabregas was his weakness and deserved more then anyone to be back and be playing for Barcelona.

Xavi "Cesc is part of Barcelona's DNA." "He would adapt perfectly to the club and the team. He is a fantastic player."He left here, but clearly he can return."

Fabregas is said to be the predecessor for Xavi when he retires but the latter is still 31 and in ones eyes still has a few years left to play at a high level. This has led Many to question where will he fit in to the current Barcelona team's midfield with Xavi and Iniesta's incredible pathological understanding, not forgetting the development of Sergio Busquets who has mastered his achor role at such a young age which has made him among the stars that have risen from the genious producing la masia.

''In the last 5 years, Cesc Fabregas has achieved more assists than anyone else in the top 5 leagues in Europe.''

While we maybe witnessing the best club side in history, we should not overlook what Fabregas has achieved at his time at Arsenal and in the premier league having achieved more assists then anyone else in the last 5 years in europe. Another stat that puts him up there with amongst the best midfielders is that has created a chance from open play every 29 minutes, the best rate of any player in Europe's top 5 leagues.

Fabregas has achieved these figures not having players of his calibar in Arsenals midfield like Barcelona , who can combine and compliment each other and raise the level in a game something which Arsenal lack. With these just being some of the stats who is to say Fabregas won't be a starter at Barcelona. Pep Guardiola has made him the priority signing for Barcelona for a reason i believe he is one of the best midfielders in the world and who is also to say Fabregas can't play along Xavi and Iniesta. Lets not forget Barcelona themselves thought Xavi and Iniesta were incompatible at one stage. The following is Iniestas view on Fabregas.  'grandstand' Ona FM- ''Xavi, Cesc and I are not incompatible, if the team is the level will be higher. " I believe that this is true and in my opinion will only make the team stronger, and could become one of the greatest Midfields ever.
